New rips are announced on the home page, but are not added to the genre lists in the left column until further notice.

As Oprah once said...

Yep, that's what she actually said.

When I created this blog back in May 2024 (actually thought it was just under a year ago, time flies when you're ripping!), I never imagined it would evolve in the robust dildo against gatekeepers it has lovingly grown into.

Since that time in fact, one of my uploads on YouTube managed to attract a lemon so sour that he felt it necessary to ridicule my efforts twice, on a single video.

I feel this is a rookie number and I look forward to seeing the ire of gatekeepers being cranked up another notch as I continue to publicize more of their precious wishlist bargaining chips that the likes of you and I, are not privy to listening to. God forbid our peasant ears are bestowed with the privilege of hearing records meant for nobody else but them!

I have persisted, as usual, to sell my soul for extra work to help with this weird hobby, but in between this process, I have been approached by a handful of generous souls who resonated with the cause and have offered me content to share with you all - and boy have they delivered!

Within the past month alone, the crusty vinyl gods (well, a close friend actually)

1) hauled over close to 400 records from an ex DJ (active throughout the UK in the 90's) to my doorstep for me to scoop and pick through like an all you can eat buffet, and;

2) was approached by an employee of a vinyl store somewhere in Europe (who must've lost his way in the backrooms of the store's basement) and handed over a jaw-slackingly stack of his own rips of a record catalogue so rare, that it would make your average gatekeeper on Soulseek want to secure them on a 1 inch USB stick and stuff it up themselves as a permanently offline backside suppository.

So in recognition of such generosity, I've decided it's time to finally pay it forward.

Yeah I know, that means less money for records. But, an extra 750gb of cloud storage guarantees that everything I rip and have ripped will finally be available to download - with NO quota limits. I'd say that's pretty darn generous!

Gone are the messy melange of links I've left scattered on the shortcuts page. Everything is now unified into one link with folders categorised in a comprehensive yet (hopefully) concise hierarchy and sorted by sub-genre, because I think that just makes more sense (don't get me started on record labels).

You will also notice around 1/4 of these files have the characters '(!)' inserted at the beginning. This is the tag I place on songs / tracks that I personally find outstanding and I've left them this way upon uploading in order to prevent a mess on my end. Sorry, but if you find that they suck, you can, you know... rename them.

To get you started, you have 4 main folders now; the first 3 containing all the singles, albums and compilations I've purchased and the 4th one containing rips from other peoples collection, with a dedicated folder representing each contributor.

So, in the user submissions folder, we now have contributions from 5 very special individuals and a few reddit users. Here's an idea of what you will find;

Ashton: Mixed Trance released only on vinyl.

Blind Alley Records: A mix of 90's Trance, Techno and odd bits of downtempo. Now THIS blew me away. These are from the record store employee I was talking about earlier. When he finds shit like this, he rips them - straight to the point, my kinda man! Most of these, if not exceptionally hard to find, are ridiculously expensive or available in tiny quantities. Nearly half of these are white labels or promos, a few were non-existent on Discogs and the rest are just obscure cuts I've never heard before. 11/10 submission.

code.red: Mostly 90's Gabber, Hard Techno, bit of DNB, bit of Trance, bit of House. This is a small portion from a close friends collection which I picked at random and ripped myself. There might be more to come later on!

Reddit users: A mixed basket of House. Some funky bargain bin style cuts in here.

Sam.C: Modern Tech House chuggers and floor-fillers released on vinyl and digital.

Treeman: late 80's to early 00's House. Lot's of Epic, Soulful and Uplifting stuff with some Prog and Tech House in between. I made a post about these recently ( click here

Later on, I may even expand storage to contain mixtapes. I am also open to storing these as well if there are any that anyone deems are worth saving.

Also, yes, these files are available via Soulseek / Nicotine for anyone who is a masochist and prefers to wait an entire decade for downloads to finish. I am online almost everyday under the username 'lostlessvinyl.blogspot.com'

Also, donations are not necessary. The only request I have is that you download and share whatever you can. Put them on another USB, or a disc, or even your own blog, I don't care! Just keep them available for others, that's the least you could do.

These files will be available until 24/06/2027 until I decide to renew the lease on storage, so prayers for my health and stability are welcome.

Oh, I almost forgot. Just a final note for the gatekeepers...
